Location: Haydock, St Helens (4 days per week in the office)

Contracted hours: Full time – 36hrs per week (4 days Monday – Thursday)
About the role
Overview of the role
We are currently searching for an experienced Production Quality Engineer to lead our production department. You will ensure that products or services meet certain required quality standards, supervise the production process to guarantee that all our products meet quality expectations.
What you’ll be responsible for
· Continual improvement of the Quality Management System in the context of ensuring key production processes, procedures and documentation are in place to comply with national, industry and customer specific standards.
· Work into the Engineering Delivery Manager (Defence) and support the Engineering Delivery Manager (Nuclear)
· To fully support, both the customer and accreditation body audits as well as coordinating any resulting conformance observations
· Handling various enquiries in relation to production quality related matters from internal and external stakeholders and support customer and supplier visits as necessary.
· Maintain, improve and drive forward shop floor processes by promoting and enforcing compliance.
· Represent the production quality department at internal and off-site meetings as required, may include supplier audits.
· Liaise with other departments to ensure delivery of conforming products to our customers.
· Lead problem solving and continuous improvement activity within the production setting.
· Develop and maintain relationships with key customers, suppliers and approval authorities.
· To support in the introduction of any accreditations deemed necessary to reach Delkia’s strategic direction
· To identify and highlight opportunities for improvement in day-to-day activities
· To work closely with all other departments to ensure cohesion and synergy between teams to achieve quality product to the customer on time
About you
What you’ll bring
· Strong academic qualifications in engineering (ideally EC&I, process, mechanical, systems or integrated engineering).
· Proven experience of working in a Quality environment, specifically electrical and mechanical production facilities.
· Solid understanding of Quality Management Systems.
· Proficient in the use of quality core tools around APQP
· Knowledge of AS9100, ISO9001 and Lean Sigma tools would be an advantage.
· Experience in problem solving and investigation methods such as; 8D, CAPA, 5-Whys.
