Graduate Engineer
Location: Egremont, Cumbria / Preston, Lancashire / Haydock, Merseyside
Job type: Permanent / Full time / Hybrid (3 days per week from site)
Salary: £32k-£35k

The company’s Head Office is at Westlake's Science and Technology Park in West Cumbria, with systems integration, assembly & testing facilities in Egremont, Cumbria and design offices in Preston, Lancashire. This is augmented by a manufacturing and test facility at Haydock, Merseyside.

Overview of the role:
Successful candidates will be passionate and energetic about applying scientific and engineering principles towards complex problems, contributing to a multidisciplinary team of engineers to develop ideas, and able and willing to brief and present complex issues and plans to clients.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Assist in production of conceptual designs, optioneering studies, requirements capture, user requirements specification and use cases.
- Experience in designing for functional safety systems is desirable.
- Have experience of engineering lifecycles and maturity management.
- Contribute to pragmatic systems solutions from a brief problem statement.
- Maintain compliance with Engineering Standards and applicable legislation.
- Participate in Design and System Level Reviews. Ensure that subsequent design meets the project and client requirements.
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of data and information received from clients is upheld.

What you’ll bring:

What you’ll need:
- Must be able to obtain or hold suitable security clearance
- British National (single national only)
- Conversant with the Office 365 suite of software
- Clear DBS certificate
- Able to drive
